Working with local designer/architect Shauna Neuhaus of S Neuhaus Design, the Highpointe DBR team and the owner designed a fantastic layout with large, open spaces. The custom home plans created incredible views while preserving smaller, quiet spaces for kids to play and adults to relax. The children’s bunk room is a favorite, while the kitchen provides a sleek, open area for families to gather.
Using a traditional piling foundation to support a high-performance SIP structure, we were able to exceed current building codes and build a beautiful home with great energy efficiency. Using locally-sourced cypress accents from Milton’s Wilson Lumber allowed us to incorporate natural, living finishes. Overall, this coastal home has a rustic yet dressy appearance intended to age and improve with time.
Some of the great features of this home are the fantastic outdoor living spaces, including the pools bounded by beautiful paver work overlooking the water. Waterproofing the decks above and finishing the foundation area walls below created gorgeous spaces for parties, outdoor cooking and shaded poolside relaxation.
Inside and out, the classic tone-on-tone décor is timeless. With a little help from the guys at DUH, the owner’s careful selection of materials and finishes is built to withstand kids, pets and years of beach house fun.
